that indeed does sound useful. i have been delaying sending photos to my friend from a vacation we took back in December. my photos are just so big and even if i send one, it seems like it takes forever to send and never finishes. i should probly just compress the photos and make them smaller, but i just have so many photos to compress and so little time to spend on it. will this File Transfer Protocol help me send these photos faster by email? if not, i just thought of an alternative i should have thought of a long time ago.

no FTP is used for servers. As in i would create a FTP server and host my files on it. Then your computer has FTP as well but only so tht it can read the file. You cant use FTP in an email even if you were hosting your own mail server because that would be using MTA (Mail Transfer Agent)

Put it simply the only way to have someone else DL a file using FTP is by hosting it on a FTP server.

Now if you want to compress a lot of files quickly then DL WinRAR and when finished installing select the files. right click. and select "add to archive". then in WinRAR on the top in the toolbar select "add" after selecting the output folder tada! you have a compressed file.
