My personal experience with this cards is slightly lowered in epicness due to the fact that it cannot deal combat damage to players but it is nonetheless still an epic card.

This is because I consider grinding, or causing an opponent to discard the cards off the top of their library, is not only more effective and annoying than dealing damage to the life points, it makes it much more difficult to stop seeing as you are likely to lose the 1 precious card that could stop the mad assault.

My Experience:

Rdawg was using my Selesnya deck and I was obviously using Naya

I had Ol' Hammy out and by now he was an 85/85 and I had equiped him with Horned Helmet which gives him +1/+1 and TRAMPLE

except I was being stopped by my Selesnya Deck's guy you want to shoot when facing, Sandsower

but luckily I brought out Where the Ancients Tread and by simply playing a Mosstodon I was able to destroy Sandsower with ease.

I have 3 of the Alara decks and none of the Conflux decks but have seen all of the cards in each one and here is what I think is the best Starter deck from each set.

For Alara

For the most powerful Alara starter deck I looked for kick ass cards and a good mechanic (E.G Exalted: Good, Unearth: Useless)

and have come to decide that when you are looking for the right shard in alara there is 1 four letter word you need to know:

J-U-N-D

The Jund deck is epic and is the only place ...

Ahh.Mycoloth, Junds beautiful child of absolute epicocity. I've had this baby so pumped up that it was churning out 40 saprolings a turn. And I won 2 turns later!

This is without a doubt one of the best cards I have ever used. Which is why it deserves this spot.

This card is absolutely epic in a Jund deck.

Ive used rite of consumption while outnumbered by nearly 30 2/2 soldiers to take the win. Dealing 97 damage to the opponent by offering a 97/97 thunder thrash elder.

I recommend this card for any Jund Deck. For this reason it earned its place as card of the week!
